Royal Rangers is a Christian scouting program designed to minister to the needs of boys. Johnny Barnes started it under the directions of the Men's Ministries department of the Assemblies of God. This program has since spread beyond just on denomination to many churches into over 64 countries. The objective of Royal Rangers is to REACH, TEACH and KEEP boys for JESUS CHRIST.
Royal Rangers represents a new approach to Christian training for boys.
The focus is on the boy--his needs, his interests, and his characteristics.
Emphasis is placed on making the Christian life so challenging to boys they will
recognize and assume their places of responsibility as followers of Jesus
Christ.
Here in the Arkansas District, we have a program designed to provide young boys with exciting activities while teaching them a deep-rooted belief in Jesus Christ. A camping theme is at the heart of the activities, along with an advancement award system whereby each Royal Ranger must demonstrate specific knowledge and abilities in order to be recognized as earning each award.
